Post-Thanksgiving Trading
Yes, the market is open on Friday. While the day after Thanksgiving is a holiday for almost everyone, but not for us traders! Their will be plenty of opportunity for traders who do not take the day off.
Historically the market is up an average .35 percent the day after Thanksgiving, but dips -.32 two days after the holiday before another pop.
What does this seasonality mean for active traders?
It means their are plenty of short term buying and selling opportunities if you know how to play seasonality.
A simple method is to use the classic cliche “buy the dips and sell the rips”.
Video Analysis

Some are potential shorts for quick trades before they run again. Others are quick momentum trend plays. Finally, a good amount are longer term momo plays with well timed pullbacks.
In this video, you will learn:
- How to enter stocks on breakouts or “pops” in the market
- How to enter value play pullbacks, or “drops” in the market
- Key sectors with stocks in play (semis, big tech, solars)
- The 3 day post Thanksgiving “pop, drop, pop” phenomena
