Goto List of Stocks 3rd Edition

Many of you guys have asked me about my routine at night when im doing my scans.  I run all sorts of scans depending on the market but most of my ideas just come from keeping a list of stocks that I can go through everynight.  I then flag them with levels that i might be interested in them.  I keep about 200 that i flip through everynight.  I havent updated it for a while so if you see any stocks we trade often in chatroom that i havent put on it let me know or leave it in the comment box! we can update and refine it with your input.

here is a link to finviz with the tickers inserted. you can check it everyday should take 10 minutes to flip through.  Goto List

There are a few of these i need to take out like GBE which we probably wouldnt be trading anymore. Im waiting for the tax loss selling to subside before I take out some of these beaten penny plays.  Lot of them might pop 20-50% over next couple weeks.

STOCK SCANNING 101

Hey guys.  Lot of you guys have asked me about scanning and how to look for stocks.  Maribeth almost always finds excellent setups and she uses all free tools.  One of the things I always tell the guys I coach is to keep their costs minimum.  Ideally between 5-10% of your profits is what you spend on all your trading tools, softwares, computers, desks etc.  There are some great scanners out there ( I use them) but they are not a necessity  you can get the same stocks using free software.  here is how she looks for her stocks.  Also ive included a past blog about how i make watchlists:

How I Setup My Charts

I’ve received a few questions from some of the new guys about how I setup my charts. I like to keep a simple setup that shows me clear charts so that I can focus on price action solely.  There are over 500 indicators that one can use; many of them will be quite useful and some won’t. But indicators are just derivatives of price, and they often lag price action, giving you delayed signals. For the Bulls style of trading, we never use indicators to tell us when to buy or sell. We use indicators  to CONFIRM what we see from the price action.

Magic of great reward to risk!

I wanted to write about this as i had a couple questions on it today.  I often tell my students that i personally train that the best money makers out there arent the greatest stockpickers but the best managers of risk.  My mentor paul singh used to say that nonstop in his emails to me.  As a trader thats your first job as very few people are great stock pickers.  for years I was a terrible terrible trader but i got by because I was a natural stock picker. I could hit such boomers that geting the perfect price, exit, stop loss didnt matter as much as there was a big margin of error.  But overtime my results plateud as I was taking 5 steps forward 4 steps back and i wasnt using good risk/position managment.  Those are the 2 things that seperate traders from elite traders.
