  • European markets are lower in afternoon trading. Britain’s FTSE 100 slid 0.4%, Germany’s DAX fell 0.83% and France’s CAC 40 declined 1.59% on the session.
  • Asian stocks ended the session higher. China’s Shanghai added 1.96%, Japan’s Nikkei 225 advanced 2.14%, and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng gained 1.06%.
